It’s kind of something that goes both ways. Our grandmothers and grandfathers living in eras not too distant from our goal (1960’s) would consider this world futuristic in terms of technology. We have a computer the size of your palm we take with us everywhere. There could be no doubt that the future we set out to reach thought up by the minds of Gene Roddenberry and Walt Disney has been reached to an extent. Hollywood had to change how Star Trek portrays the future for the reboots.

Though you’re right. This future and the ones we think up are fabricated for investors not neuroscientists. Much of our politics remain the sane despite American history entering something new.

We are living in the future but we are also not living in the future.
